When Erica misses her period after a summer fling, she fears she may be pregnant. She doesn't want to have a baby, but she is opposed to abortion. This hour-long special explores what happens when a teenager's code of ethics comes into conflict with a practical reality. Meanwhile, Joey meets his old nemesis, Dwayne, who decides to bring back outlawed initiation - especially for Joey, Snake and Wheels. Simon's new-found celebrity as poster-boy for Dude Jeans causes trouble for his girlfriend Alexa.

Im glad Spike gave Erica's sister good advice instead of telling her whats "right" or "wrong" . You gotta see things both ways , you literally cant just tell anyone what to do because that's what you believe is right . Just educate them and hope for the best .

Must say, this is an impressive episode acting-wise for djh/dh series. Really enjoyed the twins' scenes.

As much as I love Degrassi: TNG and Degrassi: NC, those shows never achieved the level of heartbreaking realism that this episode delivered. The dialogue and delivery was top notch.
MegaCMalta actually Degrassi TNG did but NC did not, I found NC boring.
MegaCMalta TNG & NC can truly dig deep into the topics, unlike DJH & DH. In they 80's they could barely touch the surface of the hard issues their episodes were about. They would've pulled this show of the air if they did episodes about things done in TNG or NC.
CaidenPower That may be true but I'm not talking about the topics. I'm talking about the realism. I found the relationship between the twins in this episode and the dialogue when the class is debating abortion more realistic than what we see in the later shows. The later shows have a tendency to be soapy or superficial regardless of what topics they're covering. The actors in TNG and NC are magnificent and I applaud the writers for taking on issues that other shows won't even touch but they don't always do it on the most realistic fashion.
MegaCMalta I agree w/ some of what you said. The twins were phenomenal in this episode. But the rest of the series isn't like this episode. It glosses over the hard hitting topics and the acting is not the best. I love every degrassi series even NC, I know some ppl rag on it for w/e reason. But while I think this is the best DH episode. I think other episodes in the later series do compare. The episode when Paige had to stand up to her rapist or the death of JT, that's just to name a few off the top of my head.

I didn't see the actual ending of this episode until a few years ago since WGBH edited the ending where Erica asks Heather if she is ready and Heather says "Never". Roll credits.

Sarah Ramsey It takes 2 to make a baby. Why is it that if a female decides she doesn't want the baby she is pro-choice and applauded. But it the male doesn't want the baby he is a deadbeat and hated? Sounds to me like 1 other persons input should be taken into consideration. Or at the very least, the father should be able to "abort" their role without repercussions.

This is the official channel though. It won't get removed from here. I think she was wondering why certain scenes were censored by not being shown. The american version didn't show a couple scenes from this episode, but they are included in this video. Nothing is missing from this video, and I asked her what part she meant was cut out.
Sorry this is a super late response. I can't remember specifically what parts were cut but if you look up this show and watch the episodes that were posted by other people you'll see that some scenes have parts like cut off which is super weird cuz you would think the official channel would post whole un-trimmed episodes
Why don't YOU go back and watch the episodes posted by others, then come back and ask specifically which scenes were cut from the RUclips version. For example, your question would be something like, "why did you cut the scene where happened". You will be more likely to get a response. This is the whole, un-trimmed episode, which is why I'd like you to do the research so you can see for yourself.
